Well, according to Taiwan time, it is now officially my birthday. :) However, I have yet to go to sleep so it doesn't feel like the next day. Also, my birthday in the States hasn't begun yet ... :) However, the birthday celebrations have already begun!!! :) My class sang, "Happy Birthday" to me in Chinese ][f course ;)]before we dismissed today and Jen and my other teacher gave me a gift! And then ... I went to a special dinner with my adoptive parents/pastors in Taiwan, Bro. and Sis. B. :) The time we spent together, I treasure!
Presently, I am on the "phone" with my family in Cali! :) My brother just sang "Happy Birthday" to me. :) He has a sleepy voice and it is darling! :) My Mama sang to me first though, when the call had just come through. Have I mentioned lately that I love my family? Cuz I do! Very much! Thank you for your early birthday wishes!
This year is going to be new and different and I'm looking forward to it! I can't even imagine the many things that will happen between now and this same time, next year. The only thing I know for sure is that God will still be on the throne! He will still be my guide and ever-present help in time of need!
My Bible school homework is almost done and it's about four pages long ... that's pretty long, but it's not all sentences and there are line spaces so its actually not as long as it sounds. ;)
So ... I slightly sunburned my neck today. It couldn't have been more than 15 minutes of being in the sun, with my ride home from school. I was amazed! This is my first little burn here. But then again, it seemed extraordinarily hot today, so maybe that is part of it. Speaking of on my way home, today I ventured out, not once, but TWICE! into invironments where I was by myself and had to use my Chinese .. The first one was getting a mango ice drink (芒果冰沙)on the way home. It is so delicious!! :) I have had two within this last week ... and I really like it! Quite refreshing on a hot day.
The second adventure was going downstairs at my apartments and talking to front desk worker about whether my package had arrived or not. It turns out that my packet had not yet come ...
But anyhow, my point was that I successfully used Chinese twice without any help! (without any human help I mean. lol :)
I have so many pictures that I need to upload ... !! Hopefully I'll get some up this weekend. Until then, it's ttfn! :D
